CoMaps is a navigation application for Android that is built on OpenStreetMap data. This utility provides open-source navigation experience that is ad-free and not-for-profit.
Maps
It is worth noting that you can directly contribute by providing feedback, reporting issues, and updating map data. CoMaps does not track you, collect personal data, or share any information with third parties. There are no ads as well.
Offline maps are supported, so this utility is ideal for travel abroad, hiking, cycling, and so on. The app is optimized to save storage space and minimize battery consumption. Powered by OpenStreetMap, it includes many places missing from standard maps, such as trails, water sources, campsites, and more.
Outdoor activities and locations
There is a special visualization for outdoor activities:
- trails;
- contour lines (including 100m-step altitude isolines);
- peaks;
- points of interest such as restaurants, gas stations, hotels, tourist attractions, playgrounds, and more.
- transit layers, including subway directions, walking paths, and cycleways.
Additionally, you can access key Wikipedia articles about locations via the app. Voice-guided navigation provides directions for walking, cycling, or driving. It is possible to search places by name, address, or points of interest.
One-tap bookmarking for favorite locations is provided. Moreover, you can record your routes and save them for later. Bookmarks and tracks can be exported or imported in KML, KMZ, and GPX formats.
