Kodi is an Android app that serves as an open-source media center. This software allows you to play and view content of any format. Please note that while the utility is primarily designed for Android TV, it can also be used on standard Android smartphones.
Initial Setup
After installing the software, you need to grant it access to photos, multimedia, and files on your device. Then, you can immediately access all features of the app. However, it’s recommended to check the settings beforehand.
By default, Kodi is in English. To switch to other languages, users need to go to Settings, click on the Interface button, select the Regional option, and open the Language tab. In this list, users can choose and download various language packs. It’s worth noting that the downloading and installing process might take a few seconds.
Once the language is selected, users can customize the cover, colors, font, and choose a screensaver. Additionally, it is possible to specify which items will appear in the main menu.
Content
Kodi developers emphasize that the application is merely a media center and does not provide any content. In other words, users need to add photos, videos, and music themselves.
In the application, you can play games, watch TV channels, and listen to the radio. To access a specific game, you need to specify the path to the location of the file.
Additionally, Kodi offers the weather forecast for upcoming days. To access this feature, you need to connect your preferred weather service to the application.
