At first, the app allows users to capture nuanced facial performances and stream them directly into Unreal Engine. This feature helps creators, developers, and studios animate digital characters or objects, similar to RealityScan.
Live Link Face generates high-fidelity facial animation data in real time. It is possible to drive MetaHuman characters with accuracy. Thus, users can see their facial expressions and performances instantly reflected on digital avatars.
The app streams data over a network using the Live Link Plugin. Users may apply captured facial animation to any MetaHuman character within Unreal Engine. Moreover, the utility offers timecode support for precise synchronization across multiple devices. Collaborative workflows are provided for ensemble scenes or multi-character interactions.

To ensure smooth operation, Live Link Face requires a mobile device equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or newer processor. Performance is further optimized on Gen 3 as well. An app supports such phone models as Samsung S24, Samsung S23 Ultra, ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, Sony Xperia 1 VI, etc. In addition, it is necessary to use a desktop PC running Windows 10 or 11.
