SASSLA is an Android application that is designed to monitor seismic activity all around the world but it mainly focuses on Mexico. Users can receive adjustable notifications that vary depending on the strength and energy release of the earthquake. Additionally, there is a map of a real-time seismic activity with all the necessary info.
Seismic activity
The app provides a convenient smart map with all the earthquakes that are happening right now. You can see the epicenter, depth, magnitude, the path of seismic waves as well as a date of occurrence and the distance from your location. There are also comment and share options, if needed.
Alerts
SASSLA allows you to flexibly customize the alerts. Notifications will vary depending on the strength of the earthquake. The more noticeable the shakes are, the more signals your device will produce. In addition, you will not receive an alert if the earthquake does not pose a risk to your location. You can check what it will look like beforehand.
The utility is capable of interrupting any running application or silent mode to warn you of danger.
Although you can monitor the shakes all around the world, the main focus of the app is Mexico. Spanish is the only language available. Therefore, if you are a citizen of Los Angeles, please consider downloading ShakeAlertLA. It has a very similar functionality.

The premium subscription has a 2-weeks trial period. It lets you receive advanced notifications from other parts of the world. You will also be able to monitor your family’s location activity.
