Get started
In order to get started, you need to have a valid subscription. The app will send you an SMS to verify that you own it. If you do not have an active membership, you will be offered to buy one after getting the message. There is also a 30-day free period that you can try beforehand.
Additionally, the utility will request access to your SMS texts, contacts, and calls. This information is processed only locally on your phone and is not shared with anyone.
Database
This application is made by the largest Norwegian database of phone numbers. The service will help you identify who is trying to contact you by providing a caller ID. The utility will also send an alert if there is any spam detected. You will get a notice with a name when you receive SMS from an unknown number.
1881 Mobilsok allows searching through the database by name, number, company or industry. It is also possible to find services nearby this way. In case your company has an agreement with Opplysningen 1881, you can browse its internal directory. Moreover, you will be able to save and manage contacts.
