Bixby is an Android app created by Samsung. It provides access to the virtual voice assistant. The utility is compatible with the flagship smartphones of this brand, as well as some mid-range devices, tablets, and smart speakers.
How to use
In order to apply the utility, users need a stable network connection. It is important to install a Samsung account on the smartphone.
At first, you need to configure the application. To do this, you have to press the Bixby button, select a language, and then record a few test voice commands. It is necessary for the assistant to learn how to correctly recognize your voice. The app currently supports English, Korean, Chinese, as well as German, Italian, French, and Spanish.
Note that Bixby may not correctly detect commands in the following cases:
- using of slang;
- being in a noisy place;
- having a strong accent;
- talking to several people at the same time.
Activation and commands
The app is activated with a special button. It is highlighted at the moment when the assistant listens to your speech.
Users can set the activation by the phrase “Hi, Bixby”. The utility recognizes the users’ phrases with the help of AI and allows the smartphone to perform the specified actions. It is possible to launch applications, search for the necessary information on the network, play music, work with the calendar and reminders, increase the volume, make calls, view maps, and much more.
