Carista is a utility for Android that offers you tools to perform vehicle diagnostics. This application offers you to check the condition of onboard electronic systems, modify their settings, test sensors, and more, similar to Carly. It is possible to perform mentioned tasks independently without visiting a car dealership.
Requirements
In order to use this utility, you have to use a special OBD2 adapter that works via WiFi or Bluetooth. Furthermore, this service requires a paid subscription to operate. In other words, Carista can only be used after signing up. However, there is a free trial period, which lasts for a few days, allowing users to test functionality of the app.
It is also important to note that Carista OBD2 works only with specific car brands. The list of supported vehicles can be viewed within the application.
Diagnostics
Once the phone is connected to the OBD2 adapter, the utility identifies the vehicle’s parameters and displays them on the home page. There are sections for settings, maintenance, data reading, and diagnostics. The latter option allows users to reset and check error codes in the modules, including the airbag and ABS brake system.
Users can personalize the car’s parameters to their liking and use its hidden features. To do so, it is necessary to open a settings section. In the maintenance tab it is possible to check tire pressure, regenerate the diesel particulate filter, obtain information about engine control units, as well as register batteries. Please note that these functions may not work with some brands or car models.
