Cryptomator is an utility for Android that offers you tools for protection of your private information stored on the smartphone. Thanks to this application, you can encrypt data, including files and directories.
Security
The main purpose of this mobile software is to safeguard confidential information from unauthorized access. In order to achieve this, the application uses AES cryptographic algorithm. Thus, the app encrypts information stored in the internal memory of the mobile device and on cloud servers. The utility supports integration with WebDAV-based storage services, including OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive.
Please note that the utility is open source, which means users do not need to worry about backdoors or similar vulnerabilities.
Configuration
It is necessary to set a master password during the first launch. This password is required to access all encrypted data. Additionally, you may enable fingerprint authorization if your smartphone supports this function.
After all mentioned steps, you can select directories containing confidential information. There are no limitations on the type of data you can protect. Thus, it is possible to choose documents, videos, photos, etc. When the encryption is complete, you may continue to work with the files as usual. If you want to enhance your protection against hacking even more, there is an option to secure the master password using the adaptive cryptographic function script.
