Douyin is an Android application that is commonly known as a Chinese version of the popular social media platform TikTok. This utility provides similar functionality, however, it is not available in play stores outside of China.
Usability
Please note, that this utility is not translated into any other languages but Chinese. Other than that, the interface of the app is quite similar to TikTok. Here you may find the tab with recommended videos, a homepage with popular hashtags, and a built-in messenger.
Users can watch, like, and comment on posts, share videos, and follow the creators.
It is possible to create your own content in a built-in video editor. This section is very intuitive and multifunctional. There are options to pick different filters or effects, add music background, text, and more. The ready-made work can be posted to your account page and eventually appear in other users’ recommendations.
Difference
Even though both Douyin and TikTok are owned by ByteDance, there are some differences between these two utilities. First of all, you can not download the Chinese version of the app in official play stores outside of China.
Second of all, you can use this utility only with Chinese localization. In addition, the content of the app is not available in other regions but in China. So you have to use VPN to get access to mentioned features.
And finally, Douyin does not provide access to most TikTok accounts and vice versa. In other words, you can not find your favorite TikTok influencers on this platform.
