DroidFish is an Android application that is designed to play chess. It offers fans of this game various modes and extensive options for editing the board. There are many additional settings. The utility uses the Stockfish engine.
Settings
At the start, you need to select the appropriate settings. It is possible to play regular and rapid chess. Moves are counted. You can set the time to think about each move.
In addition, you may choose the difficulty of the game. There is a special slider on the settings screen for this. It is also possible to allow the engine to calculate the move while you are considering your own.
There are deeper settings also. They are intended to control the Stockfish engine. This allows you to influence the difficulty of the game.
Modes
There is also a board editing mode. It is possible to play one-on-one with a friend, against the built-in engine, or with several virtual players.
Moving figures on the board are done with the help of taps and swipes. It is possible to animate the motion.
The application has a hint mode. In this case, the utility offers the user options for moving pieces.
Saving
If you have not finished the game, it can be saved. There are options to import and export files in PGN and Skid formats. The application keeps your moves in a special book.
