Food Rescue is an Android application for volunteers who want to participate in a charity food delivery program. The main purpose of the utility is to fight hunger and food waste.
Opportunities
The application allows users to create an account and become a volunteer. They will be able to track and receive orders to deliver surplus products from sellers and manufacturers to non-profit organizations. They, in turn, will distribute food to those who need it.
Operating and orders
At the moment, this program operates in 16 US cities, such as Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Los Angeles, and others. The service cooperates not only with individuals involved in the delivery of products but also with companies.
After selecting a region, the utility prompts users to download the official app to search for food delivery orders in their city. It has a built-in map that displays current tasks and offers to get directions.
Users can deliver orders and take selfies with them to post on social media, talking about the Food Rescue program. The app offers to share pics on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram accounts.
Please note that the utility sends notifications to users when new tasks are available. Users can choose the days of the week and times that are convenient for food rescue.
