GeoNet is an application for Android that allows you to be notified about earthquakes and volcanoes. It is possible to read detailed information about natural events.
Purpose
With this utility you can view the location of earthquakes in New Zealand. You may adjust the settings of the application based on your preferences. GeoNet has a simple and clear interface that allows you to get information about in a few steps. Moreover, there is an option to submit a report when you feel some vibrations or earthquake.
Usage
In order to update the information and get notifications from GeoNet, you have to connect your device to the internet. You can open the map to view the locations of the earthquakes or look through the list. Each event comes with its details such as depth, magnitude, quality and date. Similar to Tide Times NZ, there is no need to create an account to use the utility.
In GeoNet you may read news about earthquakes and other natural events. Moreover, you can see the volcano status and view the map with locations. If you would not like to receive notifications, it is possible to change the settings of the application in the Menu section. As it was mentioned before, the utility also allows you to send reports about earthquakes.
