GPTZero is an Android application developed to fight against AI plagiarism. The service can determine whether your essay was authored by ChatGPT or human.
What it is for
The application is intended to combat plagiarism generated by ChatGPT. Its AI can write basic essays and emulate the writing patterns of a human. It is also possible to direct it to copy someone’s voice or make a text in the style of a popular author.
Considering the above, it is not hard to get ChatGPT to create a high school English-style essay and to find the result indistinguishable from an assignment written by a student. GPTZero is designed to deal with these issues.
How it works
GPTZero uses perplexity and burstiness to identify who is an author. The former detects how random the text is and whether the structure of a sentence is unusual to the service. The latter compares these sentences to one another, determining how similar they are. Human writing has more burstiness and less perplexity tha AI one.
In order to use the application, you need to paste or type your text into the blank field. You will receive a detailed breakdown with charts and points. There are also brief explanations for each characteristic.
