Hosts Editor is an Android application with which you can create and edit hosts files. Please note that root rights are required to access the main functions.
Interface
The main page contains a list of all hosts files in the internal memory of the mobile device. They can be deleted and edited by clicking on the appropriate icons.
At the top of the page there is a search box, which allows users to quickly and easily find a certain hosts file. Next to it is an icon that enables creating a new file of the same type.
Additionally, there is a pop-up menu, which is necessary for re-scanning entries, highlighting all hosts as well as reading the details about the application.
Advantages and disadvantages
Hosts Editor is exclusively free and open-source, which can be found on the GitHub resource. According to the developers, it does not and will not have advertising content.
It is noteworthy that the utility works even on early versions of the Android operating system and supports symbolic links. Moreover, there is compatibility with IPv6.
As mentioned before, you need to have root rights in order to use the application properly. To unlock superuser privileges you can download SuperSU Pro Root.
