Lantern is an application for Android that allows you to connect to a VPN server and bypass blockings. In addition, the utility allows you to ensure the confidentiality of personal data when surfing the web.
Connection
Registration is not required to use this application. Please note that this utility does not allow you to select a country on your own. Once launched, the built-in algorithm analyzes the network connection speed, automatically choosing the server with the lowest ping and highest data transfer rate.
After the connection is established, a key icon will appear on the notification panel. This means that all traffic is transmitted over a secure channel. However, users can enable tunneling only for those applications that are not available in normal mode.
Bypassing
The utility allows you to visit websites that are not available in your country or region. In addition, it is possible to bypass local restrictions and firewalls. At the same time, you may access any web resources at work or at school, where access to the network is partially blocked.
Also, the application can be useful when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks, similar to Thunder VPN. Lantern encrypts all traffic, which protects personal data from interception by intruders.
