MitID is an application for Android devices designed to store and use a digital ID. This service is intended for citizens of Denmark and allows them to confirm actions as well as use a digital signature.
How to create an ID
Please note that only Danish residents over 13 years old can obtain a MitID. To do this, they need to visit the Citizen Service Center or fill out the request online.
In the second case, clients need to scan a valid passport. They can also get a MitID if they already had a previously named NemID. It is worth noting that access to the application needs to be protected with a strong six-digit password or fingerprint if it is possible.
Basic opportunities
The utility works as a digital signature and confirmation for various financial transactions, access to online banking, as well as for connecting to government services.
Users can receive requests to perform any actions via the app. It is possible to confirm queries. It is advisable to have a backup MitID if access to the phone is not possible, for example, if it is lost or stolen. In this case, clients can apply special electronic devices – display, audio code reader, or chip.
