NS is an Android app developed in collaboration with a leading Dutch railway company. This service allows residents of this country to plan trips and get directions.
Planner
The utility interface is implemented in Dutch and English. On the main page, there is a route planner. Here you can select the starting point and destination from the drop-down list. You may also use geolocation data.
Next, you need to specify a date and an approximate time of the trip. The utility will select the most suitable train options for you.
Directions
In addition, this service allows you to get directions to the nearest station using various types of public transport, including tram, bus, and metro. In this case, the time spent on the road, as well as the time of arrival and departure of transport from each stop is indicated.
The Departures tab allows you to view the train schedule for the selected station. Moreover, the app has a built-in map that helps you to determine the closest stops to you. Here you can also view the location of shops, pharmacies, restaurants, as well as various attractions.
The application saves the history of your trips. It is possible to receive notifications about delays and road works. Furthermore, you can immediately purchase tickets using the bank card attached to the utility, similar to Trenitalia.
