OTA is an Android application that is designed to search for and install updates for the operating system of mobile devices. This utility looks for new software on open web resources and then downloads it.
Requirements
This utility requires a stable network connection to work correctly. Since the files for updating the operating system can be quite large, it is advisable for the user to be in the Wi-Fi coverage area. This will avoid excessive consumption of mobile data.
Getting started
At the start, the application must recognize the ROM and kernel installed on this mobile device. This utility does not support all software versions, so it may not be compatible with the user’s smartphone. If so, the OTA will report about this on the main page.
Opportunities
The utility has three main tabs:
- About;
- ROM;
- Kernel.
The first one contains detailed information about the utility itself. The second is designed to recognize the type of operating system installed on the user’s device and look for its updates on the network. The third tab works with the OS kernel. In both cases, new software is searched for on third-party open resources, where custom ROMs are located.
If an update has been found, the application offers to download and install it.
Remark
Please note that the user performs all these actions at his own risk since this application is not official, similar to SuperSU Pro Root. Accordingly, it is recommended to first backup the contents of the smartphone so as not to lose useful data.
