Users can check information on influential and famous female scientists whose works related to STEM. The application displays their stories, achievements and contribution to space exploration.
There is an option to both read and listen to stories. To hear audio tracks, you have to make sure that your sound is on and turned up. In addition to learning interesting facts about these women, you can also interact with them by asking questions.
How AR works here
What makes Reach Across The Stars unique is that you can view information in AR format.
This means that some stories have augmented reality features that make the learning experience quite interesting.
You can click on an icon that looks like a cube and watch the video. Afterwards the app allows you to point the camera of your mobile device on the floor and tap to place the AR scene. Then a certain 3D object appears on the screen of your smartphone. It may be an asteroid or a space suit.
