RideSocial is an application for Android devices, which contains an extensive collection of video routes for cycling. They are filmed in augmented reality mode in real locations around the globe.
Videos
The utility offers both regular videos and routes shot in 360 VR mode. The first of them can be viewed on a smartphone, tablet, or TV. The second type is suitable for viewing in a virtual reality headset or Google Cardboard, similar to NextVR.
Requirements
Please note that you need to use an HDMI cable to watch routes on TV. Videos shot in 360 VR mode are recommended to run only on sufficiently powerful modern devices. The app is compatible with Schwinn stationary bikes. They need to be connected via Bluetooth. It is possible to set the speed manually.
Routes
At the moment, the application contains the following routes:
- Ireland and Scotland;
- Tibet and Guilin;
- Southern California;
- Sequoia National Park;
- Death Valley;
- Venice Beach and others.
The application calculates the speed of movement, distance traveled, and time. Avatars of famous cyclists will accompany you during your virtual rides. There is an opportunity to compete with them. On the right side of the screen, there is a scoreboard that displays the standings and your place in them.
Note
Please note that the application does not perform the declared functions. Apparently, the developers don’t support it anymore.
