ScanSnap is an Android application developed by Fujitsu as a companion for the eponymous personal document scanner. The utility allows you to synchronize this unit with a smartphone or tablet, as well as receive and save images.
Getting started
At the start, you need to select your ScanSnap scanner model and synchronize it with your mobile device via Wi-Fi. On the main page of the utility, there is a Menu button that provides access to all the options offered. In the Help section, a tutorial is presented that describes in detail the configuration and use of this service.
Functions
The main functions of the companion app are as follows:
- receiving and viewing scanned images in PDF and JPEG formats;
- processing finished files, including skew correction, blank page removal, automatic paper size detection, and so on;
- viewing images offline;
- sending finished files to Dropbox cloud storage, by e-mail, or to other applications such as Evernote.
Furthermore, this utility has many convenient settings. You can choose the file format and name, image quality, color mode, paper size, etc.
