SoundWire is an Android application designed to broadcast sound from computers to smartphones. Support for Windows and Linux PCs is provided. Audio files are transferred using a wireless connection.
General information
This utility has a simple and concise interface. It is a lightweight installation package, so it does not affect memory usage and system resources. With the app, you can listen to audio and music tracks from your library located on a Windows or Linux computer.
It is worth noting that this tool supports up to 10 connections simultaneously and does not contain ads. Unfortunately, SoundWire does not support Mac devices.
Getting started
At the start, you have to install the application on your PC and smartphone. The utility creates a so-called bridge or server to connect to your Android device over a local wireless network. You need to enter the IP address in a particular window, select the device for transmitting and receiving, and adjust the volume.
Unlike other audio streaming utilities, this one provides lower latency. Accordingly, you can use this program to listen to movies and shows while playing them on your computer. In addition, you may set up the app as a baby monitor, in which case you need a laptop with a built-in microphone.
Since SoundWire supports audio streaming or sound mirroring, you can use this utility with any media player on your computer, such as YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and so on. Please note that the utility supports a wide range of Android devices, including smartphones, tablets, and TVs. There is a separate tab with a built-in equalizer to adjust the sound.
