Tingalin is an Android application that is entertaining and imitates the Albanian musical instrument chifteli. Users have the opportunity to learn how to play on it. The utility has a catalog of melodies.
What is it
Chifteli is the so-called Albanian lute. This instrument has a long thin handle and a pear-shaped sound bowl. It has two strings. The instrument resembles a sitar, but sounds different.
Notes and sound
Its first string is used to play notes, while the second one provides a backup harmonic melody. This musical instrument is used by touching the 14 frets on the handle.
The application simulates chifteli on the screen, where the frets and strings are displayed. After tapping on them, a sound appears. It is possible to choose the tone of the instrument from four options:
- full;
- full with pick;
- crisp;
- single string.
Touching the screen in the appropriate place causes the desired timbre of the sound. The utility automatically records the melody and saves it to a separate folder. Later, users can play the entire song by shaking their mobile devices. In addition, they may listen to the track by pressing a special button. There is an option to share the song, similar to Garageband Studio.
Additional options
You can adjust the desired pitch using the slider. In a separate tab, there is a catalog of built-in melodies. You may select the desired song, view its notation and try to play it on the strings displayed on the screen. It is possible to adjust the tempo of the sound.
