Vanced MicroG is an Android application that allows you to use Google utilities without installing official services. It has been modified to be compatible with Vanced.
What it offers
With this application it is possible to use utilities that require Google’s proprietary libraries without the need to install official services. In other words, if you want to use apps like Gmail, Google Play or YouTube, these services have to be installed.
There are several important components. GMS core gives functionality for those utilities that require Google Play services. GsfProxy is a tool that allows to access Google Cloud Messaging. UnifiedNlp is a library that provides WiFi- and Cell-tower-based geolocation. And Phonesky to receive updates from the Google Play Store.
This version is slightly modified to be compatible with Vanced specifically. Without this plugin you will not be able to open subscriptions, playlists, and more.
Privacy
The app is a much more private alternative to Google Play services. Unlike the latter, it does not track and send user activity. You can also selectively enable and disable specific API features. This means that the old devices can expect some battery life improvements when there is no data being monitored.
