VaxCheckNS is an application for Android devices that allows companies and businesses to check the COVID-19 vaccination status of their employees. This utility is official and developed in collaboration with the government of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia.
Getting started
At the start, this app requests access to the camera of the mobile device, similar to VaxiCode. It is necessary so that the utility can scan QR codes provided by employees for verification.
Interface and opportunities
This tool features a simple and concise interface. The main menu located in the left side tab allows you to start a new scan and also read a short tutorial. The processing of the QR code is done directly on the device without transferring it over the web. Data is not sent to servers and third parties.
If the QR code does not comply with the public health guidelines, the utility notifies you by showing a red screen. The appearance of a green color on the display means that the code is confirmed and valid.
Since the public health guidelines may change from time to time, you need the app to be able to access the internet to update COVID-19 information.
