Registration
To enter the application, you need to use an account previously created on the Ancestry website. Also, it is possible to register through the utility. In this case, you have to provide an email address.
Genealogy and search
The main page of the app offers to build a family tree. To do this, you need to enter your personal data, as well as information about your parents – their names, dates of birth, and photographs. The tree can then be expanded, gradually adding grandparents and other relatives.
There is a map on which you can mark the places of birth, death, marriage, and other important events in the lives of family members. The search section allows you to look for people by name, DOB, and approximate residence. The utility is mainly intended for US citizens. The search is based on census data conducted in the United States in 1940.
Subscription
Advanced features of the application are available after purchasing a subscription. These include searching a database of 27 billion records. It is possible to add the information found to your family tree.
