Authentication

CIE
The digital identification card is equipped with an NFC chip. Users with a CIE can access additional services in Italy, such as transport, museums, sports events, concerts, and more. It allows citizens to use buses, trams, or the metro without subscriptions and tickets. Similar functions are available for other countries in Estonian ID Card, Mein ELSTER, iDIN, itsme, or similar applications.
CIE has information about Italian citizens such as date of birth, photo, name, year of issue, and others. This document certifies and represents a digital identity. With the card, it is possible to register at hotels, financial institutions, or others.
