eRail is an application for Android devices created in collaboration with Indian Railways. The utility is official and allows you to view the train schedule between selected stations and buy tickets.
Menu and functions
The main menu of the app located on the homepage offers users the following functions:
- searching for a train by number and viewing its schedule;
- checking the status of the Passenger Name Record;
- viewing the train schedule between the specified stations;
- reading ticket refund policy;
- viewing the map of seats.
It is possible to find the route of the selected train where stations, distance, travel time, arrival, and departure are indicated. Then you can select the points, specify the date, check availability, and book a ticket, similar to Trenitalia.
Additional options
There is an option to track the route in real time and learn about the presence of delays. This utility allows you to book tickets of various categories – for adults, children, and senior citizens. Additionally, you can view the list of trains following in the opposite direction.
PNR status is displayed in a separate tab. Please note that the information in the application changes in real time. It requires a stable network connection to update correctly.
