Healthy Minds is an Android application developed at the University of Wisconsin under the guidance of renowned neuroscientist Richard Davidson. The utility contains a huge selection of guided meditations developed on a scientific basis. With its help, users can develop the skills of mindfulness, focus, and positive thinking.
Profile
At the start, users need to create an account and take a short survey. With its help, the application will determine the emotional background, the current level of stress, the ability to concentrate, general comfort, and so on.
My path
Next, the utility will generate a personal program for the users. It includes lessons and guided meditations of the following types:
- basic;
- to develop awareness;
- to improve skills of empathy and interaction with other people;
- to control thoughts, emotions, and a vision of the world;
- to increase the level of motivation and the formation of goals.
All of them are placed in the tab My path. The Explorer section allows you to select targeted meditation practices for example to relieve stress, improve relationships, ease physical pain, and so on.
Additional options
There is a Favorites tab. Here users can locate their favorite meditations for quick access to them.
The application keeps a history of all users’ actions and allows them to track their progress.
It is worth noting that in this utility there are no paid options, unlike most similar programs. This project exists only on donations.
