KopieID is an application for Android devices that is designed to copy and store identity documents. This tool allows residents of the Netherlands to upload an ID card, passport, or driver’s license.
General information
It is worth noting that this utility is official and is created in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and the National Data Identification Authority. Information in the app is stored in encrypted form and is not transferred to third parties, similar to DigiD.
How to use
At the start, it is advisable for you to read the brief instructions for using this tool. The app offers you to take a photo of your document with the camera. It is possible to shoot several pictures and choose the most successful one.
Next, you need to remove important personal information from the photo, such as your Citizen Service Number. In this way, you can store your documents in digital form and provide copies of them if necessary.
If a service or organization asks you to identify yourself, you can use KopieID. Please note that it is desirable to apply a watermark to your digital document. It will indicate where exactly and for what purpose this copy is sent.
The application allows you to enter text, add the current date and apply this information to a photocopy of your document. You can choose the color of the watermark – white, black, or blue. Further, you can print this copy or send it.
