Pixel Shimeji is an app for Android that offers you to add a virtual pet widget to your home screen. This digital character can autonomously move around the screen and perform various actions.
Widget
The app offers a wide selection of anime characters that you can place on your home screen. Among them you can find Waluigi from the Super Mario universe, Vocaloid KAITO, Jotaro Kujo, the main character from the third part of the Stardust Crusaders manga, Iggy the dog from “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders,” the popular hedgehog Sonic, and many others.
You can set shimeji as interactive widgets on your home screen for entertainment. These digital pets can move independently across the screen. They can jump, sit, and perform other actions. Similar to the Toca Boca Halloween characters, you can interact with them, move them around, make them jump, and more.
These pets function similarly to Tamagotchi, requiring bathing, feeding, and play.
Customization
To ensure proper widget functionality, the app requires access to notifications and permission to operate over other programs. Once granted, the character will appear on the screen and begin moving along a predefined path. You can pause their movements if needed. Additionally, you have the option to remove the character from the screen or replace them with another.
Please note that some actions of the anime characters in the app are locked. To unlock access to all animations, you have to purchase a paid subscription.
