Rigas satiksme is an application for Android devices that allows residents and guests of the city of Riga, Latvia, to purchase tickets for public transport. This utility is the official mobile client of the eponymous website.
Getting started
Only registered users can enter this application, similar to CityBee. At the start, they need to indicate the phone number and attach a bank card to pay for rides. This service operates in trams, trolleybuses, and buses of the city of Riga.
Tickets and activation
Before boarding the transport, you can buy an electronic ticket directly via the application. Then it needs to be activated. To do this, you have to scan the QR code located inside the vehicle using a mobile phone camera. You can also enter the identification code of the tram, bus, or trolleybus in a special window.
After that, the ticket is active. In the case of the controllers’ appearance, you have to show it to them within the application.
The utility allows you to buy up to 10 one-way tickets at a time. They must be used within 3 months of purchase.
