RuterBillett is an Android application that is the official client of a well-known transport company in Norway. With this utility, residents of Oslo and the Akershus district can purchase tickets for trams, metro, trains, buses, and ferries.
Registration and requirements
Registration in this app is mandatory. You have to provide your personal details and attach a credit card or e-wallet to pay for tickets. The entrance to the utility can be protected with a password or a fingerprint.
RuterBillett asks for permission to read your phone’s unique identifier. This is necessary to protect your tickets from forgery.
For the correct use of this service, it is desirable to enable GPS navigation. Thus, the app will be able to determine your location and automatically offer you tickets depending on the zone in which you are. However, it is possible to specify the departure point manually.
Tickets
This application stores all the tickets you have purchased. You can view their expiration dates and the zone in which they are active.
Just like in Ruter, it is possible to buy both adult and kids’ tickets and also choose them by duration: for one day, for a week, for a month, and so on.
