Mina Point is an Android application intended for residents of Japan who have issued a digital ID My Number. The official utility offers a special program to expand the use of cashless payments and stimulate consumption. This service allows you to receive bonus points for non-cash purchases, using health insurance cards, as well as registering a savings account.
Requirements
Please note that this utility can only be used on devices that support NFC. At the start, you need to read the information from your My Number card. After the application has received all your data, you can apply for Mina Point program. The interface of this software is implemented only in Japanese.
How to use
Bonuses are awarded for various types of non-cash payments, including payment by credit cards or electronic money, using a qr-code, and so on. The utility allows you to check the status of your request. For this, you have to press the corresponding button in the main menu.
After your application is confirmed, you will be able to immediately receive starting points to your account. For example, you get the amount of up to 5,000 Yen for the procedure for issuing a My number. If you use your ID as a health insurance card, you can earn 7,500 Yen in bonuses. The same amount can be obtained by registering a savings account.
Further, in order to receive additional bonuses, you need to make various non-cash transactions using the services, the list of which is presented on the corresponding website. These can be, for example, purchases with JCB debit or credit cards, electronic money Rakuten Edy, Kotoka Point, and others, as well as payments using QR codes through PayPay, au PAY, and so on.
It is worth noting that your data in the application is protected with the PIN code that you choose when receiving My Number card. If the password is incorrect three times in a row, the utility will be blocked to prevent fraud. To reset your passcode, please contact your municipal office.
